And the July Gamer of the Month Is…

Before we announce the July Gamer of the Month, we would like to offer a small apology regarding the fact that this wasn’t posted at the end of August.  As most of you know, we were attending PAX at the end of the month and all of the things involved in getting ready for PAX put us behind on writing up this announcement and getting it posted.  At the same time, we wanted to be sure to do the article justice, so we waited till we got back into our respective offices to announce the winners.

As a recap, the July Gamer of the Month Competition was titled the Classic Crazy Challenge.  Gamers were invited to submit their best score achieved on their first life on three of five games: Burger Time, Defender, Donkey Kong, Frogger and Nibbler.  The games could be played on either arcade cabinets or MAME or a mix of the two.  Players were also invited to submit single scores if they didn’t want to compete in the monthly contest.

A large number of our entries, and the top 3 placers, came from attendees at the Star Worlds Arcade Summer Sizzle Event held Aug. 3 in DeKalb, Ill.  Without further adieu, here are the winners and their scores.
