Anime Mid-Atlantic “Beat the Champ” Scores

amalogoVideo Game Scoreboard, along with Namco Bandai and Anime Mid-Atlantic sponsored a “Beat the Champ” contest at the 13th Annual Anime Mid-Atlantic event which took place June 14-16.

Todd Rogers, Director of Score Verification with Video Game Scoreboard, was at the event to verify scores set on games as well as to be the “champ” for players to beat

There were two games played for the Beat the Champ Contest:

  • Namco Bandai Pacman Championship Edition 5 Minute Challenge on the XBox 360
  • Sega Dreamcast Crazy Taxi – Long Jump

For the Pac-Man Championship score, Todd set a record of 585,500.  No player beat the score, and no world records were set, but the top three ranked players were:

  1. Trey Brice  –  257,430
  2. Savon Whitehead  –  240,160
  3. Josh Rawr  –  197,280

For the Crazy Taxi – Long Jump score on the Sega Dreamcast, Todd played the game blindfolded, deaf and with one hand to achieve a jump of 375.76.  No player beat the score, and no world records were set, but the top three ranked players were:

  1. Kirkland Thompson –  351.98
  2. Trey Brice  –  320.53
  3. Christopher Kilroy  –  267.56
